Walter Zapata, a graduate of Business Management in Centro Escolar University, incorporated Viva Zapata Garments in 2002 after having experienced working as a medical representative for 4 years after graduation. In 2006, Walter Zapata decided to change the name of the business into its current name, Michael Dominic Garments.
The parents of Walter Zapata were also into the garments industry and they became the inspiration of Walter Zapata to build up a garments business. As opposed to creating his own brand, Walter Zapata has since then focused on subcontracting garment labor from big companies.
Company Services
Michael Dominic Garments is a garments company subcontractor that produces jeans, polo shirts and other garments for big companies such as Gap, Jag, Wrangler and Lee.
Its subcontracting business takes two forms. The first form consists of the owner proposing a certain design of the jeans subject for approval of the company and if approved, production by MDG ensues. Subcontracting can also be in the form of the company providing the design of the jeans and MDG takes charge of manufacturing the product. Terms and conditions on how the number of units and labor days are agreed upon by both parties.
Michael Dominic Garments also accepts garment labor contracts from the government (i.e. labor for municipal officer uniforms, etc.)
